Course Outline:
In this course we briefly review, discuss and demonstrate the basics of offshore fishing techniques for trout and salmon on Lake Ontario, and focus on the more advanced strategies. Topics covered include running cheaters and sliders, setting up and running wire rods and copper rods, designing your own lures, advanced knots (including the tournament knot for flies (2 variations) and the albright knot for copper rigs), lure presentations, and more. The class is run as an open-forum type setting, where we will address any questions/concerns as we go, as well as listen to others' experiences and techniques that want to share with the group.
One of the Finders Keepers boats will be on-site for visual demonstrations and participants will be engaged in hands-on activities including lure designing, tournament knot fly-tying, and albright knot tying.
Each participant receives a grab bag of tackle and promotional items supplied by Finders Keepers and our generous sponsors.
